A Deep Drowning

I was at a warehouse last night where Choke was playing. I think I may have been playing with them. It was dark and empty but good to be at. I was in a room that reminded me of a control booth and watched them play. It was loud.

It ended and everyone left. I was alone with a girl named Julie, perhaps. That was her name, but she looked exactly like Sarah. Maybe a little taller and had red hair. Anyways, we were leaving and there was a way out through a tall tunnel that ran alongside a deep channel that drained into the North Saskatchewan River. I guess the concert would have been in the bottom of a dam. The water that ran though the channel was crystal clear and very deep.

I followed behind her and warned her to be careful. No sooner had I said it than she walked right off the edge and with a loud crack fell into the water. I could see the current was strong and it quickly swept her right to the bottom. I could see her sitting about 30 feet down on the bottom, motionless in her flowing red dress. I started to panic because there was nothing I could do.

Suddenly, she began to rise out of the water and floated in the air over top of me. She was clearly alive. I then thought about what I could have done and envisioned myself grabbing two cinder blocks and jumping in to grab her. I thought about how hard it may be to drag her to the top. I thought some more, and then had to wake up.
