shor-t's Diaryland Diary ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Dream Crypt In the beginning, I was driving my motorcycle and truck around. I was worried that the sleeping bag I had set up would be stolen out of the back of the truck because I needed to park at The Ship for a few minutes. You can imagine my outrage when I accidentally dropped my beautiful sleeping bag on 17th Ave when I was trying to put it in the cab. I got ready to leave and of course the truck would not start. That was OK because I just jump started it. Later, I was walking past a spectacular cemetary. There were fantastic fruit trees in bloom already, and it is only March. I could see plums and apples and even a pineapple. We read the markers and a tragic one stated that a woman had lost her husband to an allergy attack against a type of apple. In memory, she planted that very apple on his grave. We found a crypt and went inside. It was like a church in there crossed with somebody's home and everything was in dim black and white. I saw a stairwell and followed it down. There was a small room with an altar in the corner and a few seats surrounding it. There were artificial flowers in great bunches. A priest came down the stairs and I tried to hide behind the chairs, but as the lights rose it was impossible to hide. He called on me to stand and I really thought I was in for it. The priest was good natured and grabbed a ping pong paddle and started beating a ball against the ceiling. I asked him what kinds of things people get entombed with. He said that families can ask for anything but that he just incinerates them, such as a limb and some bandages. He asked that I go back upstairs so that he could continue with his service. When I got upstairs there was a terrific service going on andmy grandmother was leading a peculiar dance. I was all for it and danced the night away with lots of girls. Afterwards, Ardene and I looked around. I told her that I thought we could live there in peace because it was like the late 60's all over again with all sorts of strange and fantastic appliances. It was great. 7:06 a.m. - 2007-03-07 ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
